Sunwine Rkatsiteli Qvevri 2021

The dark amber color reminds me a lot of amber honey. At first, it's a bit tricky to catch the aromas, but it soon opens up with hints of ocean sea salt, honeysuckle, beeswax, orange blossom, peach pit, and peanut shells. The flavors are pretty similar, with a touch of dried citrus peel and toasted almonds. There's a slight hint of oxidation, but it's not bothersome. The wine is high in tannin, has a medium-bodied feel, and boasts high, mouthwatering acidity. It finishes with a nice creamy, nutty taste. I'd pair this with grilled salmon served with a mango honey glaze.
