This wine was on sale for $8.99 before tax, so I figured it doesn't hurt to give it a shot. I'm glad I did! It has a violet color with a garnet rim variation. Nice ripe dark fruit aromas like plum and black cherries. As it develops, it really opens up with more aromas of smoke, leather, violets, cedar, nutmeg, and ground black peppercorn. The taste is dominated with the ripe fruit flavors same as the ones from the aroma. The wine has a nice delicate structure with a jam like mouthfeel layered with soft acidity and tannin. Tacco Barocco will pair well with BBQ, Game, Pizza, Stews, and Meat & Cheese boards.
